| Mom: "Paul there's a mouse on the boiler room floor. It's still alive but it doesn't move when you get really close to it so it must be retraded or diseased. Either way we don't want it in our basement." Esther: "Maybe it's asleep." Later, after Dad had gone downstairs to see to the mouse. Wesley: "The mouse wasn't diseased, it's teeth were stuck in the boiler room rug." Me: "The poor mouse." Wesley: "That mouse must have been so traumatized." | | |
| Maybe it's because it's been warm around here, maybe it's because St. Patrick's day was 73 degrees and sunny, but I thought we were done with snow. Snow? We're supposed to get 6-12 inches tonight. | | |
| In November my family got a virus that was being passed around. It consisted of a cough that lasted about a month. After having the cough for several weeks I was determined to get rid of it. A friend of the family suggested a concoction the "burned" everything out of your throat. The result wasn't as effective as I would have liked. While it did subdue the cough, it didn't get rid of it. The Concoction 4 Tbs vinegar, 2Tbs honey, 1Tbs lemon juice ( I have no idea what it is like with cider vinegar, which was suggested, because we didn't have any. I used Balsamic vinegar, which I think is stronger. Yes, it tasted really nasty.) Just this week my family got colds. Dad came up with something that helps you to breath when you are stuffed up. You heat up a mug of water and put several teaspoons of peppermint extract into it. When you inhale this, it clears out your nose. I thought this was kind of strange but it worked amazingly well. | | |
| I need to post more often. Not just so you (insert name of reader ) can be entertained by what is going on in Wisconsin, but because I need to write more. So here it goes. This past week I was filling out financial aid paper work for different colleges. It took about three hours to complete it because I had to keep running and asking dad questions, everything from "What is the current value of our house?" to "How do I save this?" I really am trying to get better with computers. There are sometimes where I will sit in front of the screen for about ten minutes trying to figure out how to do something before I go get Dad or Abbi to do it for me. I know that once I go to college I can't be calling home every few minutes asking how to double space things, but while I am here it just seems so much easier to have them do things for me instead of learning to do them myself. Oh well. I 'll have to work on that. Well there you go. | | |
| Christmas Eve at 7112 We ate a very yummy breakfast made by Dad and Abbi. Listened to A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, broadcast live from Cambridge England. (We actually missed most of the first song because we were enjoying breakfast to much.) Attempted to empty the refrigerator with anticipation for Christmas leftovers. We will attend a Christmas Eve servic Happy Christmas Eve! | | |
